Making the Team: Swim Team

Getting ready to try out for your middle or high school swim team? This program is designed to help swimmers build the skills and confidence needed for a successful swim season.
Participants will focus on increasing endurance, improving stroke technique, practicing starts and turns, and developing overall swim fitness. Whether you're preparing for tryouts or looking to sharpen your competitive skills, this program will help you get ready for the upcoming season.
Prerequisites:
- Ages 11–18
- Must be able to swim two lengths of the pool continuously
- Comfortably swimming in deep water
- Work independently in a group setting
- Follow directions and show readiness for a team-style practice
- Positive attitude and a desire to learn and improve
What to Expect
This program is designed to help swimmers prepare for swim team tryouts by improving the skills and confidence needed to be successful.
- Build swimming endurance and stamina.
- Refine freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly technique.
- Improve freestyle breathing and pacing over longer distances.
- Learn and practice legal starts, turns, and finishes, including flip turns.
- Participate in skill-focused drills designed to improve efficiency and speed.
- Receive coaching and feedback from an experienced coach on deck.
- Practice in a structured, positive environment that mirrors swim team expectations.
Please Note: Completing this program does not guarantee acceptance onto a swim team. It is designed to help swimmers build the skills needed to perform their best at tryouts.
