In this fun class for children ages 6 months - 3 years and a parent, instructors uses games, songs and simple instruction to help children to establish an expectation for adult supervision in and around the water, learn more way to enter and exit the water in a safe manner, explore submerging in a rhythmic pattern through bobbing and blowing bubbles, and learn to glide on the front and back with assistance.
All instructors are certified American Red Cross Water Safety Instructors.
Diaper Policy:
The pool requires that all children under 3.5 years old and children over 3.5 old who are not toilet trained wear a disposable swim diaper. Swim Diapers are available for sale at the pool for $2.00.
Water Temperature
The Portsmouth Indoor Pool is keeping the pool at recreational temperature. This means pool water is between 80-82 degrees. Infants & toddlers are not able to regulate their body temperature as well as adults, so their body temperature can change very quickly in water, the pool recommends wearing neoprene or warming swimsuit.
Registration
Group swim lesson registrations are made in person or online, on a first come, first served basis starting at 9:00am on the posted registration date. Payment is due in full at the time of registration. Registration closes at the end of the first week of lessons. All classes have a minimum enrollment needed to run, cancellations will be made a week prior to the session start date.
